Greenworks Product Review

Recently, I was given some Greenworks products to review:

I love that they are "greener" and better for the environment. Especially as a new mom (Olivia is 10 1/2 weeks old!), I want to make sure I am using "safe" products that are still effective.

In the past, I always shied away from wipes - mostly because they are terrible for the environment (I'd rather reuse and wash a cloth), but also because they are an added expense. However, these do a fantastic job cleaning (one will wipe down all my counters / around the sink / stovetop) and, as a new mom... I love fast, easy, no more laundry... So these are a win.

This all purpose cleaner is great. I use it in the kitchen (around the sink, on the counters and stove) and the bathroom (countertops / sink area). I have used it before I was sent these products and while I don't currently buy it (I use Dr. Bronner's soap with water or baking soda / vinegar / lemon juice), I do recommend it.

The toilet cleaner works well - not much else to say about that!

In all, I am a fan of the Clorox Greenworks line of products. They clean well, aren't full of funky chemicals, and are more environmentally friendly than other products.

Swanson Products Review

Recently, the kind folks at Swanson sent me some great products to review!

This flax oil sounded so interesting to me:

It's caramel flavored! I love the health benefits of flax (omega 3s! omega 6s! fiber! protein!) and regularly use ground flaxseed as an egg replacer, to top oatmeal, and sprinkled in smoothies. This oil sounded fun and unique and while it doesn't taste like liquid caramel, it is super tasty. I love it on tender baby lettuce with balsamic vinegar - simple but so delicious!

I also tried these goji berries:

I had a love / hate relationship with goji berries before I tried these. I know they are a "superfood" and supposed to be quite healthy - full of antioxidants - but truthfully, due to the price of many superfoods, I won't bother unless it's something I love. In the past, I had tried gojis which were dried out, crunchy, had to be soaked, and had a funky taste. These are SO different - super moist, plump, juicy... I have been eating them by the handful. SO worth it, in my opinion - great sprinkled on a salad, in granola, mixed in with grains like quinoa. Delicious!

This coconut conditioner is awesome:

It really moisturizes my thick, curly hair, but it's not overly thick and heavy. It smells amazing and I don't have to apply gobs of it to feel like it's working.

All in all, I love all the products I tried and would definitely recommend them. Swanson is a great company - wonderful customer service, free shipping over $50, and steep discounts on a huge variety of vitamins and health products. If you go to their facebook page, you can get a $5 off coupon!

A Post without Pictures

Hi friends! Has it really been almost 2 months since I last posted? Yikes!

Two lovely blogging ladies have had babies in the past few weeks - Shanna and Gina! So exciting! And the blog world has just been full of births over the past year... I guess we're all at that age?! I am 36 weeks... it's hard to believe that the home stretch is here already. I had a doc appointment today and was "checked" - not the most comfortable thing, but not too terrible. My belly is measuring a little small (it happened before), but I think it's just because I'm tall and had more abdominal muscle before I got pregnant. The good news is tomorrow I get to go for another ultrasound! Overall, I have been feeling great - emotions have been pretty stable, energy is decent throughout the day - although I need a LOT more sleep now! 6 hours just isn't cutting it. Now I need more like 10 :) So I'm not working out as much as I'd like to (that's the downside, one of many, of working full time an hour away from home - 12 hour work days), but I am at least walking / stretching every day, with pilates and the elliptical a few days a week. And I ran 3 miles last weekend!

Cravings: fizzy water! My sweet hubby got me this soda maker for Christmas, and I am obsessed. I have already made many, many bottles. And while my appetite is still there, I tend to eat too much at once (forgetting my ever-growing belly and the decreasing space in there!) and then feel ... blah. so the fizzy water rocks! Also craving avocados and big salads. And red wine (but not giving into that craving :)

Pictures of the bump to come soon! and some foodie pictures :)
